All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ CLAYSBURG YOUTH DIES AS RESULT OF ACCIDENT Following an accident which befell him at the opening of the hunting season, Edward Eagens, son of Edward and Mary Eagens died on Wednesday evening at the Nason hospital, Roaring Spring, death being caused by blood poisoning which developed from the wound. The boy on Nov. 5, his 14th birthday, with an elder brother and another companion, was hunting in the vicinity of Claysburg. The gun of the companion was accidentally discharged and some of the shot struck Eugene in the left eye. He was brought to the hospital at Roaring Spring, but a few days later blood poisoning developed and his condition became critical. The lad was born Nov. 5, 1914 [sic], at Claysburg. The remains were taken to his home yesterday and the funeral will be held today. The services were held in the Reformed Church, and were in charge of the pastor, Rev. C. Skyles. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining.
