EAGER, An old and highly respected resident of this city, died suddenly at his home, 1614 Fifth avenue at 7:30 o'clock last evening. Early Sunday morning he became ill of cholera morbus and despite the efforts of the attending physician he grew rapidly worse and died at the time stated. The deceased was born in Germany, April 4, 1819, and was consequently aged 76 years, 5 months and 12 days. He was married in the old country in 1850, and thirty-five years ago came to Altoona where he followed his trade, that of a carpet weaver, until a few years ago when he was compelled to relinquish any kind of work on account of the infirmities of age. He was [a] consistent member of St. Mary's Catholic church. Besides his wife he is survived by three sons and two daughters. They are: Philip, the eldest son, who left him twenty years ago and who has not been heard from since; Joseph of Gallitzin, Otto of this city; Mrs. Annie Loible of Beaver Falls and Mrs. Kate Willis of this city. The funeral will take place from the late residence at 8;30 on Wednesday morning, to proceed to St. Mary's church where services will be held at 9 o'clock; interment in St. Mary's cemetery.
