Mr. Eaken was one of Tyrone's substantial young men and his loss is keenly felt in the community. He was a son of George and Anna Eaken of Washington avenue and was born at Fostoria December 13, 1887. He was married November 26, 1912 to Miss Harriet Fagley, who survives with two small daughters, Mildred and Linda May. His father preceded him to the grave a number of years ago. He also leaves his mother and three brothers and sisters: James of Mingo Junction, Ohio; Edward of Northwood; Minnie and Ada at home; Mrs. Luther White of Canton, Ohio; Miss Gertrude of Seattle, Washington and Mrs. Harry Eckroth, of Bellwood. He was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal church of this place. He also belonged to Allegheny Gateway lodge No. 187, Independent Order of Odd Fellows; Washington Camp No. 735, Patriotic Sons of America and the Commandery, Troop C, Pennsylvania Reserve militia. He was an electrician by trade and was in the employ of the West Virginia Pulp and Paper company of this place. Funeral services will be held from the late home on Washington avenue tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of Rev. E. Bassler of Birmingham. Interment will take place in East Lawn cemetery. Eaken died on Thursday evening at 8 o'clock at his home on Washington avenue, Tyrone, death being caused by pneumonia following influenza. He was born Dec. 13, 1887, and was the son of George (deceased) and Anna Eaken and was a member of the First Methodist church of Tyrone, Allegheny Gatewell [sic] lodge, I.O.O.F., the P.O.S. of A., and Company C, home guards of Tyrone. He was married Nov. 26, 1912, to Miss Harriet Feagly, who survives with two children, Mildred and Linda May. Besides the mother, two brothers and the following sisters survive: James of Ohio and Edward of Tyrone, Misses Ada and Minnie at home, Mrs. Luther White of Akron, O., Miss Gertrude of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Harvey Eckroth of Bellwood. The funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the home followed by interment in East Lawn cemetery. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Saturday Morning, December 14, 1918
