MRS. MARY J. EAKENS.

  Mrs. Mary J. Eakens died at the residence of her uncle, E. Murphy, 
No. 1016 Howard avenue, yesterday afternoon at about 3 o'clock, from 
heart disease.  She had been in a critical condition for several weeks.  
The deceased was in her 50th year.  Her aged mother is left to mourn 
the loss of an only daughter, who was ever kind and affectionate.  The 
funeral service will be held at her uncle's residence, 1016 Howard 
avenue, this evening at 7 o'clock, conducted by Dr. Monroe, of the 
First Methodist Episcopal church.  Interment will be at Carlisle on 
Wednesday, leaving Altoona at 7 o'clock in the morning.
