Earhart, A former well known resident of Altoona, died at his home in Roanoke, Va., on Saturday morning. Mr. Earhart was born in Perry county, March 25, 1836, and was aged 57 years, 1 month and 11 days. For a number of years he was a contractor, and afterward became an assistant foreman in the car shops, this city. Nine years ago he went to Roanoke, Va., and became general foreman of the car shops, and when he died was foreman of the freight car shops at that place. He was a member of the United Brethren church since boyhood and was also a member of Logan lodge, Knights of Pythias. He leaves three children - Charles Earhart, of Murfresboro, N.C., Mrs. Ella Bottenberg and Mrs. Jessie Crites, of this city. He was twice married, his first wife dying twenty-two years ago. His second wife survives him. The remains arrived here on the 3:45 train this afternoon and were taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jessie Crites, 1019 Fifth avenue, where they will remain until tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, when the funeral cortege will proceed to the First United Brethren church, where the funeral services will be conducted.
