Eckard at 1317 First avenue, Duncansville, death being attributed to a heart attack. Mr. and Mrs. Eckard had become snowbound at their Dry Run home and came to the son's home to await the opening of spring. Mr. Eckard was about as usual this morning and was doing some outside chores and dropped dead as he was about to enter the house. He was a son of George Washington and Margaret Albright Eckard and was born at Roaring Spring, Feb. 6, 1872. He was united in marriage with Laura London and they had resided in the Dry Run district west of Duncansville for many years. Surviving are his wife and these children: Clarence of Duncansville, R.D. No. 2, John of Seattle, Wash., Samuel E., at whose home he died, Mrs. Grace Lentz of Allentown and George A. Eckard, with the armed forces in the Philippines. Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. Malinda Clapper, residing in Maryland. He was a member of the Hicks Memorial Methodist church in Duncansville. Friends will be received at the son's home after noon tomorrow. ECKARD - Funeral services for Samuel D. Eckard of Duncansville, will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock in the Hicks Memorial Methodist church, that place, in charge of the pastor, Rev. E. Vance Green, assisted by Rev. L. D. Ott.
