Edwards, who will be remembered by many of our citizens as a resident of Tyrone some years ago, died at his home in Seward, Nebraska, on the 8th inst. The following obituary notice is taken from the Blue Valley Blade of that place: Allison H. Edwards was born in Huntingdon county, Penn., May 8, 1842. Died of typhoid fever at his home in Seward, Aug. 8, 1888, at 5:20 a.m. aged 46 years and 8 months. He was married to Miss Louise Foster, Oct. 14, 1866. He was converted and joined the M. E. church in 1868, and had up to the time of his death enjoyed its communion. He has held several official positions in the church, and at the time of his decease, was a faithful Steward and S. S. librarian. He was a soldier, having enlisted in the service in 1861, and served out two enlistments. He was a member of the G.A.R., and was twice elected Commander of Seward Post No. 3. He was also a member of the I.O.O.F., in which order he was held in very high esteem. His wife and daughter, a young woman, survive him, and mourn the loss of a loving husband and affectionate father. In his death Seward loses one of her best citizens. He was buried from the M. E. church, a large funeral train following his remains to the cemetery, where he was laid to rest, in keeping with the ritual service of the G.A.R.
