Edwards of this place, died in the Lakeside hospital, Cleveland, Ohio, on Thursday morning, November 17, death being caused by a hemorrhage of the brain, following an operation for goiter on November 15. Mrs. Edwards had been ill since last spring, and complications had made her case very serious, so that this operation was a last resort, with the hope that through it she might gain relief. Mr. Edwards accompanied his wife to Cleveland several weeks ago, since which time she was in the hospital at that place till she passed away at the time above stated. When the end seemed near the family were notified and Mr. Edwards and son Chester, of Hollidaysburg, left at once for Cleveland, but arrived after she had passed away. Her daughter, Mrs. Elvin Ferry, followed them on a later train, arriving in Cleveland just as they were preparing to return to this place with the body. They arrived here on Friday evening on the late train. Mrs. Edwards was born May 8, 1862, in Huntingdon county, the daughter of Benjamin F. and Mary Ellen Shultz, and was married to W. H. Edwards July 22, 1886. To this union were born five children, three of whom survive, as follows: Chester H., clerk to the County Commissioner at Hollidaysburg; Lloyd, of Altoona, and Izetta, wife of Elvin Ferry, of this place. Two sons, William Orville and John Mahlon, died many years ago. She is also survived by a number of grandchildren and these brothers and sisters: J. A. Shultz and Mrs. W. H. Law, of Roaring Spring; Mrs. Edmond Treese, of Hollidaysburg; Mrs. C. W. Burket, of South Martinsburg, and A. C. Shultz, of Yellow Springs. Deceased has been a resident of this place since 1890, having movd (sic) here from Clover Creek. She was a member of the Church of God, where funeral services were conducted Sunday morning by her pastor, Rev. W. H. Snyder. Interment was made in Fairview cemetery.
