MRS. MARY E. EFFINGER.

  Mrs. Mary E. Effinger died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Heiss, 
723 Walton avenue, at 5 o'clock yesterday morning of carcinoma of the
stomach. She had been ill since May.  Deceased was a native of
Germany, was aged 74 years and made her home with the Heiss family.
She was a member of St. James' German Lutheran church and is survived
by a son in Germany.  The funeral will take place at 4 o'clock this
afternoon.  Interment in Oak Ridge cemetery.
