Wilbert G. Eger, 46, shot his wife and then turned the gun on himself after ordering guests at a party to leave his home Sunday morning, an 11-year-old son told police. Calling his wife from upstairs, Eger, the son told police, said: "Bertha, this is the end." The gun barked and soon the lifeless forms of the parents lay before their children. Returning a tentative verdict of murder and suicide, the county coroner said no inquest would be held. Eger's mother, Mrs. John Eger and his four brothers reside in Altoona.
