Ehman, an inspector in the Tyrone yard, met with an accident about 8 o'clock yesterday morning, which cost him his life a short time afterward. He was working under some cars, when a section of loaded cars ran into the one under which he was working, causing it to pass over his legs, mangling and cutting them in a horrible manner. He was brought to the station at Tyrone, and Dr. Gemmil summoned, who at once saw the serious nature of the accident, and informed the patient that he had but a short time to live. He died a short time after 12 o'clock, after his will had been dictated to a notary. He was conscious to the last. He was born in the kingdom of Bavaria, on March 19, 1837, and was therefore in the 43d year of his age. He was the son of J. Leonard Ehman, and spent the greater portion of his life in Tyrone. He was married on December 24, 1868, to Miss Elizabeth J. McFarland. He leaves no children, but a loving wife survives to mourn his tragic and untimely end. His father, one brother and three sisters survive him, who are, George Ehman, Mrs. Catharine Troutwine and Miss Henriette Ehman, of Tyrone, and Mrs. Elizabeth Wichum, of Altoona. He was a member of Col. D. M. Jones Post, 172, G.A.R., and also a consistent member of the German Lutheran church. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., Tuesday, July 30, 1889
