John Ehringer, a veteran of the Civil war and a former well known citizen of Altoona, died at the Dayton Soldiers' home on Sunday of diseases incident to old age. He was aged 77 years and was one of the pioneer residents of the city, having located here in 1851. He served with distinction during the Civil war. He had been at the home for a number of years. He is survived by these children: John, Nicholas and George, of Altoona; Andrew, of Pittsburg, and Mrs. Harry Fraley, of Altoona. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary Rollins, of this city.
