Yingling. LEWIS D. YINGLING Well known resident of Blandburg, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Annie Lewis, at Blandburg, Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, death being attributed to a complication of ailments. He was born on Feb 19, 1861, and is survived by the following children: Robert, Joseph, Frank, Michael, Samuel and Charles Yingling and the daughter at whose home he died, all of Blandburg, and Mrs. Luella Thomas of Mountaindale and thirty-eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Margaret Powers of Bellwood, Mrs. Mary Evans of Altoona, Mrs. Catherine Dodson, John and Charles Yingling, all of East Freedom, and William Yingling of Hollidaysburg. Services conducted at St. Richards's Catholic church of Blandburg, Wednesday at 9 a.m. interment at Pleasant Hill cemetery, Glasgow. Altoona Mirror, May 10, 1937 MRS. CATHERINE EICHELBERGER YINGLING Mrs. Catherine Eichelberger Yingling, wife of Lewis Yingling, died at her home in Blandburg, Cambria county, Saturday evening at 6:45 o'clock, death being attributed to complication. She has been ill for some time. She was born two miles south of Claysburg, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Eichelberger and was aged 58. She is survived by her husband and these children: Robert, Frank, Joseph, Samuel, Michael, and Charles, and Luella, Edith, Annie and Agnes and one sister, Mrs. Annie Coulter all of Blandburg. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist church. Funeral services will be conducted in the Blandburg Methodist church Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock and interment will be made in the Pleasant Hill cemetery at Glasgow. YINGLING Robert D YINGLING of Blandburg, died on Oct 28, 1957. He was born in Blue Knob August 5, 1886, the son of Lewis D and Katherine (Eichelberger) Yingling. He wed Grace Campbell. Surviving are his wife, children: Mrs. Everett Sallyer, Mirrel, Mrs. Francis Seymour of Blandburg, and Frank of Alexandria, Va; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; and six brothers/sisters: Charles, Frank, Mrs. Annie Powell, Mike & Joe of Blandburg, Mrs. Louella Krise of Fallentimber. Altoona Mirror, October 30, 1957 ETHEL GRACE YINGLING Of Blandburg, who died at 9:40 a.m. yesterday in the Altoona Hospital of burns suffered Wednesday in her home, was born Oct. 13, 1888, in Clarion County, a daughter of William and Amelia (DeHart) Campbell. Her husband, D. Robert Yingling, died Oct 28, 1957. Surviving are four children, Mrs. Ollie Salyer of Buffalo NY, Mirrel L. of Lincoln, Del, Mrs. Betty Seymour of Blandburg and F. Orrie. Campbell, in the Air Force. 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three brothers, James of Glasgow, Percy and Enlow of Blandburg. Miss Yingling was of the Methodist faith. Born March 1, 1888 in Lloydsville, son of Lewis and Jennie (Eichelberger) Yingling. He was married twice; first to Margaret Summer, who died in 1944; then to Margaret Grazier, who died in 1969. Surviving are a son, Wilfred; 1 granddaughter; 4 brothers and sisters: Michael, Mrs. Louella Krise, Mrs. Annie Powell, and Charles. Friends received at the Troxell Funeral Home. Yingling, wife of Joseph Yingling, the former Margaret Leona Summers, died Monday night at 10 o'clock in the Altoona hospital where she had been a patient since Sept 11, death being attributed to a complication of ailments. She was born in Blandburg, Sept 5, 1886. Surviving are the husband and one son Wilfred Yingling of Blandburg and one granddaughter. YINGLING Of Lake Helen, FLA formerly of Blandburg, died unexpectedly at 10:15 a.m. yesterday in the West Volusia Hospital, DeLand, Fla., where he was admitted Thursday. He was born Dec 18, 1889 at Colyer, Center County, a son of Lewis D. Yingling and Jenny C. (Eichelberger) Yingling. Surviving are two sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Louella Krise of Fallentimber RD Mrs. Annie Powell and Joseph of Blandburg, Michael of Heilwood and Charles C. of Daytona Beach, Fla. He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, was a veteran of World War I, a charter member of the Blandburg American Legion Post and a member of the Lake Helen American Legion Post. Friends are being received at the Lankford Funeral Home Deland. Altoona Mirror, January 8, 1966 Maude A. Yingling of 1304 9th St died at 7:45 a.m. Saturday at her home after an extended illness. She was born Dec 3 1882, at Lloydsville, a daughter of Crammond and Louella (Coulter) Johnson and married Frank Yingling. Surviving is one grandchild. James M. Crain of Akron, Ohio. MARTHA LUELLA KRISE Mrs. Martha Luella Krise of Van Ormer died Jan 3, 1985 at the Altoona Hospital. She was born Feb 15, 1893, in Somerset, a daughter of Lewis and Jennie (Eichelberger) Yingling. She was married first to Arthur F. Thomas, who died in 1938, and then married to David M. Krise Sr., who died Nov 24, 1978. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Sisler, who died Dec 7, 1984. Mrs. Krise is survived by these children: Frank A Thomas, Arthur L Thomas, Mrs. Evelyn Zonfrilli, Mrs. Ella Clair, Mrs. Rose Allison, and Larry G Thomas; 27 grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Krise was a member of the St Mary Magdalen Catholic Church of Frugality. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow. KRISE - The funeral of Martha L. Krise of Van Ormer, Fallentimber RD, will be held with a mass of resurrection at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, Frugality, by the Rev. John J. Marshall. Clearfield Progress, January 4, 1985 ARTHUR THOMAS Arthur Thomas 45, employe of the Frobes Coal Company at Blandburg died at 4 o'clock yesterday morning at his home in nearby Mountaindale. Mr. Thomas had been in ill health for the last six months and had been unable to work during that time. He was born April 1, 1892 in Blandburg, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Thomas. His mother passed away some time ago. In addition to his father, residing in Blandburg. Arthur Thomas leaves his widow. Mrs. Luella (Yingling) Thomas and these children: William , Arthur, Ella, Frank, Rose, Margaret, Ruth and Larry Thomas all at home, Mrs. Mary Barr, Juniata and Mrs. Evelyn Zanfrille, Altoona. Five grandchildren also survive. Mr. Thomas was a brother of Calvin and Sylvester Thomas both of Blandburg and Mrs. Bertha Frye of Flinton. J. Troxell, Glasgow mortician. Altoona Mirror, March 25, 1938 DAVID KRISE Of Fallentimber, died unexpectedly at 10:30 p.m. Friday, Nov 24, 1978, in Altoona hospital. He was a retired coal miner and farmer. Mr. Krise was born Aug 8, 1893 in Frugality, a son of John T. and Mary E. (Rickard) Krise, and was thrice married, first to Ada Adams and then to Marie Davis, both of whom preceded him in death, and then on Aug. 8, 1939 in St. Mary Magdalen church, Frugality, he married Martha Louella Yingling. YINGLING Mr. Yingling 86, of 306 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd. formerly of Blandburg, died at 6:40 p.m. Friday, April 8, 1983 in the Altoona VA Medical Center. Mr. Yingling retired as owner of Yingling Grocery Store and Gas station in 1962. He was born Dec 10, 1896 in Sydney, Clearfield county, the son of Lewis and Catherine (Eichelbarger) Yingling and May 10, 1924 in Glasgow married Violet M. Brown. Surviving are his wife and two sons, Lewis W. at home and George S. of Indiana. Also surviving is a sister Mrs. Luella Krise of Fallentimber. Altoona Mirror, April 9, 1983 VIOLET M. YINGLING Violet M. Yingling 94, Moran's Home, Bellwood formerly of Altoona and Blandburg, died Monday morning Nov 15, 1999 at the home. She was born July 28 1905 in Blandburg the daughter of Joseph D. and Mary F. (Miller) Brown. She married Michael G. Yingling May 10, 1924 in Glasgow. He died April 8, 1983. Mrs. Yingling retired as owner of Yingling's Store and gas station, Blandburg, in 1962. Surviving is a son Lewis W. of Altoona. YINGLING Of Blandburg, who was injured critically while at work in the Yingling coal mines at Blandburg, on Aug 28, died at the Philipsburg hospital on Tuesday right at 8:45 o'clock, He is survived by his wife and these children: all at home, Clair, Robert, Joseph, Donald, Catherine, Charles, Gene, Richard, and Patricia and these brothers and sisters: Robert, Joseph, Frank, Michael, Charles and Mrs. Annie Lewis all of Blandburg and Mrs. Luella Thomas of Mountaindale. (died 8-29-1937) LAURA BELLE YINGLING Of Blandburg, died at 1:25 p.m. Saturday, in the Altoona Hospital where she was admitted earlier in the day. She was born May 13, 1893, in East Waterford, Juniata County, a daughter of George and Salista (Fusselman) Zimmerman, and on Feb 22, 1917 married Samuel Yingling, who died Aug 31, 1937. Surviving are nine children, Clair, Donald, Gene, Richard, and Mrs. Irene Corrado of Blandburg, Robert of Washington, Pa., Joseph of Chambersburg, Harold of Bellwood, and Mrs. Patricia Lazear of Wellsburg, W. VA: 33 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three sisters Mrs. Flora McCartney of Wellburg, W. Va., Mrs. Blanche McCartney and Elizabeth of Lewistown. MRS. EDITH (YINGLING) CAMPBELL Wife of James Campbell of Glasgow, died last Wednesday at the Philipsburg hospital. Death being attributed to pneumonia. She was a daughter of Louis and Catherine (deceased) Yingling and was born on Nov. 29, 1900. She was united in marriage eighteen years ago with James Campbell, who survives, with the father and these children: Wilson, William, James, Lester, Virginia, Isabelle, Marline, and Orrie, all at home and these brothers and sisters: Robert, Joseph, Frank, Samuel, and Charles Yingling and Mrs. Annie Lewis of Blandburg, and Mrs. Arthur Thomas of Glasgow. Altoona Mirror, April 26, 1937 JAMES O. CAMPBELL Mr. Campbell, 85, of Glasgow, died at 8:40 a.m. Saturday, Jan 30, 1982, in the Hillview Convalescent Center. Mr. Campbell retired as a coal miner from the Powell Coal Co of Blandburg in 1958. He was born April 14, 1896 in Bells Landing, the son of William and Alice (DeHart) Campbell, and married Edythe C. Yingling. Mrs. Powell ran and developed the coal operations of Lewis and Powell Coal Co, Reade Mining Co., Powell Coal Co, and LAMP Coal Co., Blandburg. She was born March 16, 1904 in Blandburg, the daughter of Lewis and Jennie (Eichelberger) Yingling, and was twice married: first to Albert Lewis and then to Charles E. Powell. Surviving are eight children: Jack Lewis, Albert Lewis Jr., Russell Lewis, Mrs. Virginia Moore, Alva Lewis, Edward Powell, Charles C. Powell, and Mrs. Gloria Austin; 16 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two brothers and a sister: Mike, Charles C, and Mrs. Louella Krise. Powell, 76, of Altoona, and Warwick Manor, Secretary MD, co-founder of C.E. Powell & Annie Powell Coal Co, Blandburg, died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday July 30, 1977 at Memorial Hospital Johnstown. Mr. Powell was also active in salvage and construction facilities in and around Altoona. He owned Warwick Manor Estate in Secretary, and was a real estate developer in Florida. He was president of Basalt Trap Rock Corp. Williamsburg. He was born May 14, 1901, in Beaver Valley, a son of John W. and Lula (Landis) Powell. Surviving are his wife, Anna Mary of Blandburg, four children, Edward and Charles C. of Secretary, Mrs. Gloria Austin of Bellmede and Mrs. Virginia Moore of Blandburg, and four step-sons Jack, Albert, Russell Lewis of Blandburg and Alva Lewis of Daytona Beach, Fla., 16 grandchildren, and three brothers and a sister, Jack L. of Altoona, Denzel G. of Houtzdale, and Justin L. and Mrs. Virginia Taylor of Smithmill. DAVIS A daughter of Louis D. Yingling of Blandburg, died on Wednesday morning at 5 o'clock at the home of a sister Mrs. Annie Lewis of Blandburg. Death was due to a complication of diseases. She was born on Feb 12,1906. Surviving are the father and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Luella Thomas of Mountaindale, Mrs. Edith Campbell, Mrs. Anna Lewis, Robert, Joseph, Frank, Michael, Samuel and Charles Yingling, all of Blandburg. The funeral will be held from the home of Mrs. Lewis on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of Rev. Dysart. Interment will be made in the Pleasant Hill cemetery. YINGLING Mr. Yingling , 73, of Secretary Md, formerly of Blandburg and Daytona Beach Fla. died Monday, April 26, 1982 in Easton Memorial Hospital MD. after an extended illness. Mr. Yingling retired as a real estate and insurance broker in 1969. He was born April 8, 1909 in Blandburg, the son of Lewis D. and Jenny C. (Eichelberger) Yingling, and May 2, 1945 in Bellwood married Ester H. Carroll, who died Oct. 22, 1981. Surviving are a brother and sister, Mike of Altoona and Mrs. Luella Krise of Fallentimber, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Yingling was the dean and president of the Yingling School of Real Estate Law and Real Estate Brokerage. He was a life-long member of Alpha Tsi Omega Professional Honor Society and Epsilon Delta Chi. He was commissioned a colonel on the staff of the Governor of Kentucky in the honorable order of Kentucky Colonels. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Altoona Mirror, April 26, 1982
