He was born in Queen, Bedford county, March 7, 1883, a son of Jackson and Sarah Eicher, and retired in 1944 as a boilermaker for the Pennsylvania railroad. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elsie (Lingenfelter) Eicher; three sons and one daughter, Eugene D., Paul E., Mrs. Perdethia Hinkle and Richard I., all of Altoona, six grandchildren and two brothers, Virgil of New Florence and Charles of Altoona. He was a member of the First Lutheran church and the Henry Baker Bible class. Friends will be received at the Gilden-Barton funeral home after 7 o'clock tomorrow evening.
