Mrs. Minerva Ellis, wife of Lawrence Ellis, and formerly of this city, died at the Homeopathic hospital, Philadelphia, yesterday morning, of cancer, following an illness of one year. She was born in Turkey valley, this county, in 1866, and was the daughter of John and Sarah Young, both deceased. Two sisters, Mrs. D. E. Spielman, of 1413 Second avenue, this city, and Mrs. C. S. Mains, of Erie, survive, with a brother, Curtis Young, of Claysburg. The body will be brought to this city probably today and private burial in Oak Ridge cemetery will be made tomorrow. Mr. and Mrs. Spielman departed last evening to accompany the body here. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Wednesday Morning, January 24, 1917 Funeral Notice. Funeral service for the late Mrs. Minerva Ellis, who died in Philadelphia on Tuesday, will be held at the rooms of Lafferty & Tobias, 1010 Chestnut avenue, this morning at 10.30 o'clock.
