All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ EZEKIEL EMES Ezekiel Emes, aged 73, a resident of Wehnwood, near the city, was found dead in bed early yesterday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. H. Harmon, of 2423 Seventh avenue. Death was due to a stroke of apoplexy said to have resulted from injuries received while working for Contractor J. B. Fluke at the Wilkinson garage, on December 9. Following the injury Mr. Emes was taken to his daughter's home and had been able to leave his bed only once since the accident. Mr. Emes was born at Lake Cinco, Canada, August 20, 1843. He came to Altoona at the age of 20 and had resided here ever since. He was married at Hollidaysburg July 4, 1878, to Miss Katherine Kopp, who died in the city November 5? 1903. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. F. B. Gruber, Mrs. C. H. Harmon, Mrs. H. A. Stevens, all of Altoona; Mrs. Harry L. Hankinson, of Buffalo, N.Y., and James F., Roy E. and Mrs. Chas. Harter, all of this city. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Walter Emes, of Texas; George, of Liberty Centre, O., and Mrs. Anna McMullen, of California. The funeral will be held with services at the home of his daughter, 2422 Seventh avenue, at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon, in charge of Rev. Dr. Wilford P. Shriner.
