About four o'clock he walked down the south track for the purpose of lighting the lamps, and on perceiving a train approaching crossed over on the north track and proceeded towards the switch. Another train came up the north track and before he was able to get clear of the rails he was knocked down by the engine and thrown over the bank. He was taken up and carried to his home, when it was found that he was very seriously injured, which resulted in his death at about 7:30 last evening. The noise of the passing train on the south it is supposed prevented his hearing the approach of the freight train from the opposite direction. Mr. Emigh was 68 years of age, of an irreproachable character, respected by everyone, and was one of the most respectable residents of Sandy Ridge, and his sudden decease is mourned by many friends outside his family circle, who desire to sympathize with the widow and family in their great loss. He leaves a wife and four children - Mrs. Dunning, of Tyrone, Mrs. Robert Tate, Sandy Ridge, Archibald Emigh, of Sandy Ridge, and Jacob Emigh, Tyrone. The funeral took place Friday last at Bald Eagle cemetery.
