England, Canoe Valley Youth, Dies in Training Camp at Forst Sam Houston, Texas Another Blair county boy has given his life that democracy might be preserved to the world, word having been received last evening of the sad event by W. W. England of Canoe Valley when informed by the war department that his son, Arthur S. England, had died at Fort Sam Houston, Tex., on Sunday, of pneumonia. Arthur S. England was the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. England, of near Yellow Springs and was born near Pinecroft, Aug. 24, 1896, and went to Canoe Creek with his parents 15 years ago. Last fall Mr. England volunteered and was assigned to the aviation corps, being stationed at Fort Sam Houston, Tex., for training. He was a quiet and industrious young man with many friends who will be sorrowed by his sacrifice. He attended Lutheran church and Sunday school. The dead soldier is survived by his parents and the following brothers and sisters: Robert England, a volunteer at Fort Worth, Tex.; Gale, Foster, Kenneth, Katherine, Tanson and Mildred England, all at home. Funeral services will be conducted by the young man's pastor, Rev. Rearick, in the Lutheran church on Friday, April 12, at 2 p.m. Interment will be made in Keller's cemetery.
