Mrs. Eva Caroline Eschbach, who has been invalid for the past six years, died at her home, 1610 Columbia avenue, on Friday evening at 7.30 o'clock of heart prostration. The deceased's maiden name was Eva Caroline Heitz. She was born at Nonnenweyer, province of Baden, Germany, November 1, 1828, and at death was aged 70 years, 8 months and 27 days. She was married to Joseph Eschbach in Philadelphia in 1853, both having come to America in 1851 in the same vessel, landing in that city, from whence they removed to Schuylkill county, and in 1862 came to Altoona, where they remained six months and came to Tyrone October 27 of that year, which has been the family home ever since. The husband, Joseph Eschbach, died at the Masonic hospital, in Philadelphia, April 23, 1893, and was buried in Tyrone cemetery. Mrs. Eschbach is survived by two sons and three daughters, all of whom are residents of this place, viz: Joseph, Carrie M., Annie M., Emma R. and J. William Eschbach. The deceased was a Christian woman, a devoted mother and a good and kind neighbor. Funeral services will be held at the late home of the deceased, 1610 Columbia avenue, at 10.30 o'clock this morning, to be conducted by Rev. H. L. Jacobs. Interment to follow in Tyrone cemetery.
