She was born in Roaring Spring Jan. 2, 1889, a daughter of Harrison and Alice (Boyles) Burns, and on Dec. 9, 1945, at Cumberland, married Charles E. Evans. Surviving are her husband, one son, Jay H. of Bellwood; six step- children, Mrs. Harry Hamilton, Mrs. Zella Walters and Ray of Bellwood, Mrs. Faye Harmon, Mrs. Shirley Lucas and Mrs. Joan Waite of Tyrone; four grandchildren, one sister and two brothers, Mrs. Marie Line of Altoona, Fred B. Burns of Sinking valley and Clarence S. of Silver Spring, Md. Mrs. Evans was a member of the Logan Valley Baptist church for more than 50 years and a member of the P.O. of A. in Bellwood.
