MRS. L. A. EVANS, FORMER CITY RESIDENT, DIES

  Mrs. Victoria (Stitt) Evans, widow of Louis A. Evans, died at her 
home in St. Petersburg, Fla., at 9 o'clock Thursday evening.  Mrs. 
Evans was born at Tuscarora, Pa., June 11, 1869, a daughter of Benjamin 
F. and Matilda B. Stitt.  She married Louis A. Evans Feb. 15, 1906.
  Mr. Evans was for many years a member of the firm of Stitt & Evans, 
furniture dealers, of Altoona, and the family lived in Altoona and 
Hollidaysburg before taking up their residence in St. Petersburg a 
number of years ago.
  Surviving are one daughter, Marguerite, wife of Charles A. Beswick of 
St. Petersburg, Fla., two grandchildren, Anne and Charles Beswick, jr., 
and one sister, Mrs. Grace Peterson of Philipsburg.
  Funeral services will be conducted at St. Petersburg.
