John Thompson Evey, a well known resident of the city for many years, died at his home yesterday afternoon at 3.35 o'clock, death being caused by pneumonia from which he had been a sufferer since last Thursday. He was aged 67 years and was born in Center county, coming to this city about 30 years ago. He was married 34 years ago to Miss Christina Liebig, who preceded him to the grave two years ago. To this union were born three sons and one daughter, who survive: Clement L. Evey at home, Fred H. and John Victor of Pittsburgh, and Mary E. at home. He is also survived by two brothers, William of Wilkes Barre and Al. Evey of Lewistown and by two sisters, Mrs. Adie Houseman, of this city, and Mrs. Maggie Love, of Pittsburgh. He was affiliated with the Lutheran church and the services will be conducted by Rev. Marion Justice Kline at a time to be announced later. Private interment will be made in Rose Hill cemetery.
