ISRAEL J. EVIN

Aged 66, of 1721 Twelfth avenue, well known shoe repairman and
merchant in the city for many years, died at 6:15 o'clock this morning
at Mercy hospital where he was admitted at 2:55 o'clock yesterday
afternoon after having suffered a heart attack.  Mr. Evin was born in
Lithuania, but had been a resident of Altoona for the past thirty-two
years.  He conducted two shoe shops in the city. His wife, Mrs. Yetta
(Fikie) Evin, died last Dec. 11.  Surviving are six sons and
daughters, Mrs. Peter Slater of Sharon, Charles, Zelma, Mollie, David
and Florence, all at home; one sister and one brother, Mrs. M.
Williams of Chicago and Samuel Evin of the city.  Mr. Evin was a
member of the Ohavel Yosher congregation and of the Bnai Brith.
