William Fagan died at his home in Philadelphia yesterday morning at 9.30 o'clock, death being caused by influenza and pneumonia, following a brief illness. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Fagan of 526 Second avenue and was aged 29 years. Lieutenant Fagan returned during the summer from Russia, where he had gone with a railroad engineering corps with the rank of first lieutenant, and since his return to the United States he was employed in an engineering corps at the Waterstreet arsenal, N.Y. Following his return from the far east, Lieutenant Fagan spent several days in Altoona. He had spent some time in Japan, as well as in Siberia while he was away and was thoroughly conversant with conditions in orient. He was a young man of great ability and gave prominence [sic] of rising high in the ranks of his profession. He was employed by the Baldwin Locomotive company prior to entering the government service. Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife and two children and by one sister, Mrs. Dr. G. C.
