All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ JOHN FARRELL, An aged and respected citizen, died of diseases incident to old age at his home, 709 Sixth avenue, shortly before 6 o'clock last evening. The deceased was born in County Longford, Ireland, and was aged about 85 years. He came to America when a young man. For a number of years he had charge of a stationary engine in a tannery near Ebensburg, but after the death of his wife (whom he had married in the old country) he, with his children, came to this city, residing here until his death. Up until six months ago, when he was taken ill, he was an employe of the Pennsylvania railroad company car shops. He leaves two children - James Farrell, of 706 Fifth avenue, and Miss Ellen Farrell, who kept house for him; also these grandchildren: May, James A., Frank and Kate. He was a member of St. Mark's Catholic church and the Pennsylvania Railroad relief association. The funeral will take place on Monday morning at 9 o'clock, services being held in St. Mark's church.
