FAY, One of the most popular bookkeepers in the city, died of typhoid fever at 7 o'clock this morning, after an illness of two weeks. The news was a surprise to many, as it is not long since Mr. Fay was at his desk in the wholesale house of Fay, Hutchison & Co. The deceased was born in Williamsburg, in November, 1857. His early days were spent there, and his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Fay, and his sister, Miss Jennie Fay, still reside there. Besides these, he leaves the following brothers in this city: Joseph M., Robert J., James D., and John Edgar. Mr. Fay was a Forester and an attendant of the Presbyterian church. The remains were taken to Williamsburg this afternoon. The funeral will take place there at 3:15 o'clock Friday afternoon; interment in the Presbyterian cemetery. Fay at Williamsburg yesterday afternoon was largely attended by relatives and friends of the deceased. Fully 100 members of Mountain City court, Improved Order of Foresters, of which Mr. Fay was a member, turned out. A large number of Altoona business men were also present.
