FEATHER Of Lancaster, formerly of Altoona, died at his home Wednesday, Aug. 13, after an illness of eight weeks. He was born at Pleasantville, Bedford County, Feb. 1, 1870, a son of Chauncey and Sarah (Blackburn) Feather. He came to Altoona in 1888 and was employed by the Altoona Works, retiring as a machinist in July, 1937, after more than 49 years of service. At the time of his death he was a staff member of the North Museum of Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster. He was married to the former Clara W. Houser. Surviving are a son, Howard L., with whom he resided; a granddaughter, two half-sisters, Mrs. Anna M. Barefoot of Alum Bank and Mrs. Charles Hawthorne of York, and one half-brother, Ira Crissman of Philadelphia. While in Altoona Mr. Feather was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church, the Knights of Pythias and the Supreme Lodge, I.O.O.F.
