RECORD OF DEATHS.
S. J. Fels, Formerly of Altoona, Died in Pittsburg of Typhoid Fever.

  A telegram has been received in this city announcing the death at his 
home, 23 Magee street, Pittsburg, of S. J. Fels, who died of typhoid 
fever at 1.48 o'clock yesterday afternoon.  The deceased was the son of 
John A. (now dead) and Mary Fels, of 509 Seventh street, Altoona, and 
he was born and raised here.  He was a machinist by occupation, having 
learned that trade in the upper shops, afterward working at Juniata, 
then at Philadelphia and about five months ago entered the shops of the 
Pittsburg, Fort Wayne and Chicago railroad at Pittsburg.  He was aged 
32 years, and was married, his wife surviving him.  He also leaves 
these relatives: His mother and two brothers, Harry and Frank, of this 
city; also three sisters: Mrs. H. J. Carey, of Pittsburg; Mrs. E. F. 
Booser, of McKee's Rocks; and Miss Ella, at home.  He was a member of 
the Roman Catholic church; and while here worshipped with the 
congregation at St. Mark's.  His body will be brought home this evening 
on Philadelphia express.  Funeral arrangement will be announced later.

FUNERAL NOTICE.

  The remains of the late S. J. Fels were brought from Pittsburg 
Saturday night and taken to the home of the mother of the deceased, 
Mrs. Mary Fels, 509 Seventh street.  The funeral cortege will leave the 
house at 8.30 o'clock this morning and proceed to St. Mark's Catholic 
church, where at 9 o'clock mass will be celebrated.  Interment will be 
made in St. John's cemetery.
