FEW IS CALLED BY DEATH Prominent Second Ward Resident Succumbs to Heart Trouble Yesterday Afternoon Joseph W. Few, a well known and prominent resident of the Second ward and a machinist in the employ of the Pennsylvania Railroad company, died rather suddenly at his home, 1115 Third avenue, at 3:50 o'clock yesterday afternoon. He was feeling as usual on arising yesterday morning but shortly after reaching the shops he was taken ill and returned to his home. He grew slowly worse until he passed away. His death came as a shock to his wide circle of friends in the city and among the shopmen. Deceased was born in Lebanon in August, 1857 and he was reared and educated in that city. He came to Altoona in 1879 and had since resided here. He was a machinist by occupation and was employed in the wheel shop of the Pennsylvania Railroad company's shops. He was a member of the Eighth Avenue Methodist Episcopal church, the Royal Arcanum and the Pennsylvania Railroad Relief association. He was of a cheerful disposition and was held in respect and esteem by those who shared his acquaintance. He is survived by his wife, and four children: Beale, of this city; Misses Breslin, Elizabeth and Jennie Few, all of the city. Public funeral services will be conducted at the house on Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and will be followed by private interment in Rose Hill cemetery. Friends are requested to omit flowers.
