DUNCANSVILLE

JACOB FICKES.

  At his residence here, Jacob Fickes, a former prominent resident of
East Freedom, died at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, aged 72 years, 1
month and 2 days, after a short illness due to his advanced age.
Surviving are his wife, Viola Jane Fickes, and the following children:
Mrs. Charles Rinner, Copper Run; Mrs. John Allison and Mrs. Blanche
Lester, Roaring Spring; Mrs. Jacob Feather, East Freedom; also a
brother and these sisters: Mrs. Jacob Burkheimer, Portage; Mrs. Jacob
Dodson and Mrs. John Benton, East Freedom; Harrison Fickes, of
Altoona; Mrs. Rebecca Abisha, (address not given). Fifteen
grandchildren also survive him.
  Funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Thursday morning at Grace 
Reformed church, Claysburg.  Interment at that place.
