Filer, of Pleasant Valley avenue and Sixteenth street, died Thursday night at 10 o'clock of influenza after a week's illness. She was born in Pleasant Valley July 25, 1892, and is survived by the parents, two brothers and a sister as follows: George, of Camp Greenleaf; Charles, at home and Mrs. Hazel Boyer, of this city. Miss Filer was a member of the First United Brethren church and was an earnest worker in the church. She was also a member of the Union Sunday school and leader in singing in the Traveling Union Prayer band. Private funeral services will be held at the home on Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, followed by interment in Rose Hill cemetery. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Saturday Morning, October 19, 1918
