Filer, an engineer in the Pennsy yards, died at 6.50 o'clock yesterday morning at his home, 2112 Sixth avenue, of pneumonia, following influenza. He was taken ill on Saturday. He was born in Altoona on Sept. 4, 1887, the son of George and Catherine Filer, deceased, and was married in this city to Miss Hazel Brown. He was a member of the Fourth Lutheran church, the Brotherhood of L. F. & E., Pennsy relief, Altoona lodge of Eagles and Loyal Order of Moose. Surviving are the widow and one son, George Henry, and the following brothers and sisters: Charles, John, Harry and Fred, all of Altoona, William of Harrisburg, and Mrs. Caroline Briesacher of Bergen Fields, N.J., and Mrs. Millie Koelle of this city. The remains can be viewed at the chapel of Funeral Director Otto Gilden. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock from the Gilden chapel. Interment in Rose Hill cemetery.
