He operated a dental laboratory in the Altoona Trust building for a number of years until his retirement last year. He was born on Jan. 7, 1873, at Collinsville, the son of Jacob J. and Elizabeth J. (McKee) Filer. His wife, Sarah M. (Brumbaugh) Filer, preceded him in death in 1930. Surviving are two sons, Ralph E. and J. Amos Filer of this city; five brothers, Jacob C., George E., Henry B., N. Keirn and Adam O. Filer, all of Altoona; one sister, Mrs. Annie E. Peck of Altoona; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Filer was a member of the First United Brethren church. Friends may call at the Lafferty funeral home. FILER - Funeral services for John McKee Filer will be held at the funeral home of John P. Lafferty, Saturday at 2 p.m., in charge of Rev. George R.
