MAHLON FILER Of Sinking valley, formerly of 805 Fourth avenue, died at the Altoona hospital at 8.10 o'clock last evening. He was born in Altoona June 17, 1896, the son of Jacob and Katherine (Myers) Filer. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Annie Simpson, and five brothers, Charles, John, Albert, Frank and Crist Filer, all of Altoona. A nephew, Dr. James B. English, lieutenant, senior grade, United States navy, survives. A brother, Walter B. Filer, died Feb. 15, 1943. Mr. Filer was a member of the Trinity Reformed church and was an electrician by trade. Friends will be received at the Laughlin funeral home after 6 o'clock this evening. FILER - Funeral services for W. Mahlon Filer of Sinking Valley will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2.00 o'clock at Laughlin funeral home, with the Rev. Howard Boyer, officiating. Interment in Rose Hill cemetery.
