Filicky, 81, of 1203 Catherine Ave., Tyrone died Friday, February 20, 2004 at 6 p.m. at her residence. She was born May 5, 1922 in Armbrust, a daughter of the late George Joseph and Pauline Julia (Cummings) Walsh. On March 10, 1941 at Youngwood, PA she married Joseph G. Filicky. He died January 19, 1997. Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Lee Hebenstreit of Hilliard, Ohio, Necia JoAnn Kaufman and husband William of West Deptford, New Jersey, four grandchildren, Lisa Marie Zarlenga and her husband Michael, Laura Lynn Hebenstreit, Christina Gismondi and her husband Benedetti, Jonathon Edward Kaufman, two great-grandchildren, Benny and Gavin Gismondi and two sisters, Agnes Wasserman of Greensburg and Harriet Bedilion of Waynesburg. She was preceded in death by two brothers, James John Walsh in 1956 and George Charles "Lucky Bucks" Walsh in 1932 and a sister Ida Pauline French in 1963. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Tyrone, Catholic Daughters of America, Court St. Rita, charter member and former Grand Regent of the CDA encompassing Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Covington, Virginia and St. Joseph Catholic Church, Clifton Forge, Virginia, charter member of the Tyrone Hospital Women's Auxiliary, Women on Wheels, Allegheny Country Club, Covington, Virginia, Happy Time Club and AARP. She was active in the Girl Scouts as a Committee Mother and leader and volunteered for the American Heart Fund and Community Chest drives in Tyrone. Mrs. Filicky was formerly employed by the John R. Wald Co., Rea and Derrick Drug Store and Steele's Drug Store, Tyrone. Funeral mass will be held Saturday, February 28, 2004 at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Youngwood with Fr. John Szczesny, Celebrant. Entombment will follow at St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg. Friends will be received at the Feller Memorial Home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Richard McCauley Funeral Home, Inc., Youngwood. Tyrone Daily Herald, February 26, 2004
