Fink, age 86, of 1207 Logan Avenue, Tyrone died Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at 7 p.m. at her home. She was born October 16, 1920 in Tyrone, the daughter of James G. and Drucie M. Lykens Stover. On May 27, 1942 at the bride's home she was married to J. Leslie Fink, Jr., R.Ph. who preceded her in death October 11, 1980. She is survived by two children: Joseph L. Fink III (Renie) of Lexington, KY and Cynthia F. Barber of Martinsburg, W.V. and five grandchildren: Rachel V. Smith (Michael) of Watsontown, Pa.; Rebecca J. Geipel (Peter) of Selingsgrove, Pa.; Joseph L. Fink IV (Shelby) of Shelbyville, KY; Jonathan M. Fink (Lori) of Bangor, ME and Josh Barber (Mel) of York, Pa. and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Jane Varner in 2003 and was the last of her immediate family. Mardell was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she had served as an Elder and Sunday school teacher and as a member of the church choir. She was a graduate of Tyrone High School class of 1938. She and her husband had owned and operated Fink Drugs from 1955 until 1978. She had been a volunteer at the Hollidaysburg Presbyterian Home and had formerly served as a member of the Board of the Blair County Home Nursing. Funeral service for Mardell S. Fink will be Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 3 p.m. at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. with Reverend Norman E. Huff officiating. Interment in Eastlawn Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 until 3 p.m. Saturday. Contributions in her memory may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 102 W. 13th Street, Tyrone, Pa. 16686 or to the Tyrone Snyder Public Library, 1000 Pennsylvania Avenue, Tyrone, Pa. 16686.
