All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ JOHN FISHER, A veteran employe of Juniata erecting shop, and for twenty-two years a citizen of Juniata, died last evening at 9:10 o'clock, of cancer of the stomach, with other serious complications. John Fisher was born at Duncansville, September 25, 1852, and was a son of Charles W. and Rachel Fisher, both deceased. He is survived by his wife and five children - George and John of Altoona, Mrs. Frank Stahl of Philadelphia, Mrs. Carl Schultz of Franklin and Mrs. Leonard Trees of Juniata. Mr. Fisher, since the establishment of Juniata shops, held the position of testing engineer in the erecting shop and but few of the thousands of locomotives built in the big plant were finally passed out without his hand upon the throttle. He was a member of the Juniata Erecting Shop Burial association. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 in the First Methodist Episcopal church, by his pastor, Charles W. Wasson.
