Fisher, formerly of 14th street met death in action in France. The War Department has notified his parents Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Fisherthat the young man was killed in action on September 12th. "Dick" left Tyrone with the second contingent which numbered 68 men for Camp Lee on September 23rd of 1917 and was mustered in on the 26th day of that month by General Fitzhugh Lee, then in command at the new mobilization camp with [which] bears the famous old family name. He was born here on June 2, 1892 and was a familiar figure at the plant of the West Virginia Pulp and Paper company where he was last employed. He was married on February 16, 1918 to Miss Teresa Hull at Atlanta, Georgia, who survives with a small daughter, to the union with his first wife. He is also survived by these brothers and sisters: William, Mrs. Bessie Wilt, Mrs. Mildred Borman, Frances and Mary all of Tyrone. He was a member of the 321 Field Artillery.
