Culbertson Fleck Jan. 4, 1913 - March 8, 2008 Amy B. Culbertson Fleck, 95, of Hillview Golden Living Center, formerly of 103 Sunbrook Manor Apartments, Duncansville, died Saturday at the center. She was born in East Freedom, daughter of the late Aden W. and Olive Helen (Dickson) Burns. She married John W. Culbertson June 23, 1941, who preceded her in death April 27, 1983, and then she married Charles R. Fleck Jan. 4, 1985, who preceded her in death Nov. 14, 1986. Surviving are a nephew, Drew Krider and wife, Tricia, of Hollidaysburg; a grand-daughter, Jenna Carpinello and husband, Chris, in Georgia; and a great-grandson, Joshua Carpinello in Georgia. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenton L. Culbertson; and a sister, Ivy B. Krider. Amy was a member of Hicks United Methodist Church of Duncansville. She retired June 8, 1971, as an elementary school teacher in the Hollidaysburg Area School District at Allegheny No. 1 Elementary School, with 37 years of service. She was a 1930 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and a 1932 graduate of Lock Haven State Teachers College. She received two degrees from Penn State University; Bachelor of Science in 1955 and Master of Education in 1960. She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, Hollidaysburg (past worthy matron); Jobel Court (past high priestess), Altoona; White Shrine, Altoona; Daughter of the Nile; and Blair County and PA National Teachers Association. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg (www.pssfh.com). A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard M. Morris officiating. Interment at Alto-Reste Park. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., March 9, 2008
