John Anderson Fleck died at his home at Skelp, in Sinking Valley, at 6 o'clock last evening, of pneumonia from which he had suffered about a week. He had been in poor health for some time previous to the attack which resulted fatally. Mr. Fleck was born April 10, 1837, and at death was aged 61 years and 9 days. He was a farmer by occupation, and passed most of his life in the quietude of Sinking Valley. He saw stirring times, however, during the civil war, serving his country in Company G, Fifty-third Pennsylvania regiment, from October 29, 1863, to June 30, 1865. The deceased was a consistent and devout christian, having been a member of the First Lutheran church of Tyrone. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Jane Fleck; one sister, Mrs. Delilah Hestler, of Bennet, Iowa; and a brother, Thomas Fleck, of Tipton. The funeral will take place Thursday morning, the cortege leaving the late home of the deceased at 10 o'clock, and proceeding to the Lutheran church, Sinking Valley, where services will be conducted by Rev. F. L. Bergstresser, of Tyrone. Interment in Lutheran cemetery at Sinking Valley. Tyrone Daily Herald, Tyrone, Pa., Wednesday, April 20, 1898, page 4
