Fleck, Sr., age 77, of 40 Green Hollow Road, Port Allegany, Pa died Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport. He was born in Sinking Valley on July 27, 1927, the son of A. Roller and Edna Wertz Fleck. On May 25, 1946 in Tyrone he was married to Lelia J. Hicks who survives. Also surviving are three sons: Robert E. Jr. and wife Sandy of Wilson City, Utah; Harry A. and wife Jenna of Port Allegany and Zane G. of Jonesboro, GA; one daughter, Elizabeth J. Naylor of Turtlepoint; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one brother, A. Wayne and wife Jeannie of Sinking Valley and two sisters, Marjorie Harpster of Altoona and Edith Magill of Sinking Valley and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Sheldon Fleck. Mr. Fleck was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sinking Valley. He had been a resident of the Port Allegany area for 30 years. He was a farmer, self-employed truck driver, plant operator of the stone quarry for Interstate Amesite Corp., Portville, NY before retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Portville Senior Mixed bowling league, Port Allegany Men's Horse Shoe League and the Golden Eagle Euchre Club, Eldred. Funeral service for Robert "Pappy" E. Fleck, Sr. will be Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at 8 p.m. at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. with Reverend Roger Laktash officiating. Burial will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Sinking Valley. Friends may call at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. until the time of service at 8 p.m. Tyrone Daily Herald, March 15, 2005
