FLUKE Mrs. Margaret Fluke, wife of James G. Fluke, and one of Roaring Spring's most beloved matrons, died at the home of her son, Cloyd M. Fluke, on Bloomfield street, at 12.35 Sunday noon, after a lingering illness due to complication of diseases. Mrs. Fluke had been confined to her bed since December last. Margaret Fluke was born August 31, 1864, at Rebecca Furnace, and was a daughter of Jacob and Delilah Myers (both deceased). She spent her girlhood with her parents in Woodbury, Bedford county, and May 20, 1883, she was united in marriage with James G. Fluke at Rockford, Pa. They established their new home in Altoona; in 1897 they moved to Pittsburgh, where they resided until coming to Roaring Spring in 1913. Mrs. Fluke was a life-long member of the Methodist church, and since residing at Roaring Spring was one of the most dependable members in that church, Sunday school and Aid society. She led a most unselfish life, giving her utmost energy to any work that might benefit humanity, her friends or neighbors. While in Pittsburgh she was affiliated with Guyassuta chapter, O. E. S., but upon her taking up her residence at Roaring Spring entered the chapter there where she was known as one of its most influential members, serving for several years as chaplain, and at the time of her death held the office of conductress of that chapter. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and most sincere friend to all who associated with her. Her death leaves a vacancy that will be felt for many years. Mrs. Fluke is survived by her husband, two sons, Cloyd, of Roaring Spring, and Alfonsa M., of Pittsburgh; also the following brothers and sisters survive: M. Luther, of Everett; B. B. Myers, of Mann's Choice; Samuel F., of Hyndman; Thomas M. and Millard F., of Woodbury; Mrs. Louisa Gogley, Mrs. D. P. Myers, Mrs. P. M. Bussard, Mrs. F. C. Johnson, all of Altoona, and two grandchildren, Wesley and Virginia Fluke, of Roaring Spring. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. S. Williams in the local Methodist Episcopal church at 9.30 Wednesday morning. Interment in Dry Hill cemetery, Woodbury. Martinsburg Herald, Hand-written date of March 26, 1920
