All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ ANOTHER VETERAN GONE Peter Fogle Died At His Tipton Home Past eighty years of age, Peter Fogle, a veteran of the Civil War, died at his home at Tipton, Pa., at 4.45 o'clock this morning of diseases incident to his advanced years. He was born in Sinking Valley, Pa., on January 12, 1840, and since arriving at maturity, he had always been engaged in farming. On September 1, 1867, he was united in marriage to Miss Ida Belle Morgan. This was after the Civil War in which he served faithfully for three years and three months in Company F, Seventy-Six Pennsylvania Volunteers. He had resided for the past 22 years at Tipton, where he was an esteemed resident and a consistent member of the Baptist Church. Surviving him are four sons and five daughters: Harry R., W. C., D. I., and J. W. Fogle and Mrs. A. A. Smith of Altoona; Mrs. H. E. Snare of Juniata; Mrs. C. E. Campbell of Bellwood; Mrs. W. E. Cherry and Mrs. W. B. Cherry of Tipton. He also leaves a brother and a sister, Philip Fogle and Miss Sarah Fogle, both of Altoona. Funeral services at the late home of the deceased will be held at two o'clock Friday afternoon. Reverend Mr. Bower, of the Tipton Baptist Church will be officiating. Internment will be made in Fairview Cemetery at Altoona.
