The deceased was [in] failing health for about a year previous to his death and during the past two weeks was unable to be at his feed store at 701 Third avenue. His death was due to a complication of ailments, with strong symptoms of the rare Hotchkins' disease. Samuel Irvin Forsht was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Forsht, both deceased, and was born near Martinsburg on February 27, 1862. At the age of ten years he was brought to the village of Bellview - now Juniata borough - with the removal here of his father's family. On October 4, 1883, he was united in marriage to Miss Annie Bailey, who survives with eleven of a family of sixteen children who were born to this union. Mr. Forsht in 1886 entered the service of the Pennsylvania Railroad company, first working in Fourth street shops, then later in Seventeenth street round house and finally on the eastbound car repair tracks. He left the service in 1907 to engage in the feed business, his poor health at that time making a wise move to give up constant physical labor. There also survives one brother and three sisters: Albert Forsht, of Juniata; Mrs. J. D. Goodman, of Altoona, Mrs. John Robinson, of Williamsburg; and Mrs. Elmer Magill, of Duncansville. Mr. Forsht was a member of Trinity Lutheran church, of Juniata, a member of Bellview lodge, 497, Independent Order of Odd Fellows; the Knights of Maccabees, Juniata grange, Patrons of Husbandry, and Rogers No. 1 fire company.
