CARRIE BELLE FORTNEY, 

Formerly of 108 7th St. Tyrone, died at 4 p.m. Saturday in Johnstown 
after a lengthy illness.  She was born in Ironsville on June 1, 1880, a 
daughter of John T. and Anna (Fetters) Ross, and on Oct. 4, 1898, in 
Tyrone, married Verne C. Fortney, who died in April 1961.  Surviving 
are three daughters, Mrs. Glenn B. Glasgow of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Wesley 
Sober of Johnstown and Mrs. Carl Babe of Tyrone, 10 grandchildren, 13 
great-grandchildren, and a half-sister and two half-brothers, Mrs. Mary 
Adamson of Wilmington, Del., Robert Jenkins of Washington D.C. and 
William in South Africa.  She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran 
Church in Altoona. Interment was made today.
