At half-past 1 o'clock Saturday morning John Fox, an aged resident, died at the residence of his son, Reuben S. Fox, No. 810 First avenue. A complication of diseases was the cause of death, and for the past six years he had been in failing health. Born in Petersburg, Huntingdon county, September 24, 1822, he was married in the year 1850 to Miss Catharine Stratiff, of Tyrone. To them nine children were born, and of this number four are yet living. These are Mrs. Annie Lowe, of Spruce Creek; Mrs. Alice Moore, Reuben S. and George M. Fox, of Altoona. By occupation the deceased was a blacksmith. He worked at his trade in Tyrone and also in this city, having been an employe of the railroad company here for some eighteen years, a workman in the lower shops. He was a member of the First Lutheran church and also of the Order of Chosen Friends. On mail train to-day the body will be taken to Tyrone for interment.
