This morning, at twenty minutes past one o'clock, Mrs. Rachael Fox died suddenly, of apoplexy of the lungs, in the 76th year of her age. Mrs. Fox, while in rather feeble health for some time past, had not been considered in a dangerous state of health, and last night retired in good spirits, little thinking that before the dawn of another day the summons would come for her to lay down that which was earthly and begin the new life on the other side of the veil. Deceased had been twice married, her first husband being Jacob Renner, to whom she bore three children, two of whom are dead and one, Mrs. Hamer, of Spruce Creek, living. To the second marriage there were three children, of whom two - Mrs. Banks and Frank Fox - are living in Tyrone, and one is dead. Mrs. Fox had been a resident of Tyrone for the past fifteen or twenty years and was much loved and respected by a wide circle of friends and acquaintances for her many rare traits of character. A good neighbor and steadfast friend, she was ever ready to do a kindness for others, and her ministrations in time of sickness and distress stand out as a noble monument to her memory. An affectionate and faithful mother, she ever labored for the spiritual as well as the temporal advancement of her children, and to them, as well as to her aged husband, her death is a bereavement which strikes deep to their hearts and makes a grievous wound. She was a member of the Presbyterian church during nearly all her life, and not only believed in the precepts taught by the Word of God, but daily practiced them in her life, thus giving faithful assurance that now that her life's work is ended, with her all is well. Funeral services will be conducted in the Presbyterian church to- morrow afternoon, at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. S. M. Moore, D.D., after which interment will take place in Tyrone cemetery.
