Frank, a highly respected resident of Hollidaysburg, was seized with a stroke of apoplexy at 10 o'clock on Saturday night, dying instantly in the arms of her daughter, Mrs. Tacy Beegle, who caught her as she fell, at her home on Walnut street. Mrs. Frank had not been in the best of health for some time past, but on Saturday spoke of feeling exceptionally well and was in good spirits. She conversed pleasantly with neighbors a short time before her death, while sitting on the porch. Upon going into the house she proposed to her daughter that they make some coffee and while busying herself about the kitchen she suddenly exclaimed "catch me," and fell into her daughter's arms. The deceased lady was a daughter of John and Susan Metz, of Williamsburg and was born at that town March 29, 1845. She spent her younger days there and was married there to John D. Frank on September 3, 1866, by Rev. N. G. White, pastor of the Presbyterian church. Mrs. Frank was a Christian woman in the true sense of the word. She became a member of the Williamsburg Presbyterian church in her girlhood and since her residence in Hollidaysburg has been a faithful member of the church here. She was a good, kind, loving wife and mother, who paid the closest attention to her home duties and made friends with all she came in contact, by reason of her patient, cheerful disposition, with which she was always possessed. She had been a resident of this town for the past thirty-six years, where her husband preceded her to the grave fifteen years ago. There are left to mourn their loss one son, Edward, at home, and three daughters, Mrs. Sue Eckard and Mrs. John Ditch, of Altoona, and Mrs. Tacy Beegle of Philadelphia, who had been visiting her mother for the past two weeks. There also survive two brothers and a sister: Grove, Stewart and Miss Nannie Metz, all of Williamsburg. The funeral will take place from her late home on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, the services to be conducted by her pastor, Rev. W. H. Orr. Interment will be made in the Presbyterian cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Monday morning, August 19, 1918, page 2 MRS. FRANK'S FUNERAL The funeral of Mrs. Anna Frank took place yesterday afternoon from her late residence on Walnut street. There was a large attendance of friends and relatives, and beautiful floral tributes. The services were conducted by the deceased's pastor, Rev. William H. Orr, who with his family is spending a month's vacation at the western part of the state, and came here specially to perform this rite. Rev. Orr preached a most impressive sermon on "The Immortality of the Soul," and paid fitting tribute to the worth of the departed. Two appropriate hymns were sung by Misses Mary Ingold and Louisa Kloss. At the conclusion of the services, the cortege proceeded to the Presbyterian cemetery for interment. Altoona Tribune, Wednesday morning, August 21, 1918, page 8
