Frantz The sad intelligence reached Tyrone on Saturday, that Newton Frantz, son of Abram and Mary Frantz, of Twenty-first street, had been killed a mile west of Portage. For a number of years, Mr. Frantz had been employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad company in different departments of their work. He was afterwards employed by the Westinghouse electric works at Pittsburgh and was recognized as a good workman. Newton T. Frantz, was born at Van Scoyoc October 22, 1881, and was therefore aged 27 years, 6 months and 18 days. All his boyhood days were spent with his father on the farm near VanScoyoc; then the family moved to their present home on Twenty-first street. In October, 1907, he was united in marriage to Miss Minnie Graham, of Turtle Creek. Surviving to mourn his death, are his wife and parents and the following brothers: Wilson, of Pittsburgh, and John of Tyrone. Also, the following half brothers: J. C. and B. L., of Bald Eagle; Z. W., of Tyrone; Peter, of San Francisco, Cal.; and Walter Boyer, of Williamsport. Funeral services were held at the home of his parents Monday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. C. O. Beery, of the Brethren church. Interment was made at Bald Eagle. Tyrone Daily Herald, Tyrone, Pa., April 12, 1909
