Crawford, of this city, received a telegram yesterday morning announcing the death of her sister, Mrs. Levina Fries, wife of T. J. Fries, of Oakland, Cal. Deceased had not been in the best of health recently although able to be about in the usual daily routines. The immediate cause of death was paralysis and she passed away Monday forenoon. Mrs. Fries and her family have been residents of the far west for twenty years, having lived at Oakland about ten years. Within the past few years the lady visited her kinsmen in this city a couple of times, her last sojourn having been made two years ago. The subject of this notice was sincerely religious and devoted to her church and its various activities. She was beloved by those who knew her; a firm friend of the deserving and a loyal supporter of the right. She is survived by her husband and four sons, all residents of California; also, by a brother, Harry R. Green, of 209 Fourth avenue, and Miss Florence Green, Mrs. Walter M. Binckley, Mrs. P. H. Crawford and Mrs. Charles R. Murry, all of this city. Deceased was a daughter of Robert and Mary Green, both deceased, and remembered by many of the older residents of Altoona. Interment will take place this afternoon at Oakland.
